Matt Zawodniak

I am a 5th year Ph.D student in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Georgia. My interests include mathematics education at the college level, future and current teacher training, algebraic topology, and rational homotopy theory. This term, I'm teaching a course for new graduate students on how to teach mathematics. Additionally, I'm teaching a course for future elementary school teachers, as well as a certification course for current elementary school teachers in Clarke county and the surrounding area. I'm also rewriting this certification course with the aid of one of my co-teachers.

I'm currently writing my thesis, titled "A Moduli Space for Rational Homotopy Types with the Same Homotopy Lie Algebra", and it is on track to be finished by May 2016. I'm also working on a video project for Pre-Service teachers and am experimenting with using Twitter to promote good mathematical communication skills.

My favorite place to work is the beach, because it's relaxing and the ocean never judges when you have to backtrack on statements five times.

You Missed Me At: MAA Mathfest, Washington DC on August 6th for my talk:
